After the war America strongly helped Japan rebuild. I had a half a dozen very awkward moments in Japan were intoxicated old Japanese men came up to me at festivals, etc., and profusely thanked me and America for rebuilding their country. We did things as diverse as causing the creation of "The 'Living National Treasures' program.
